AT&T is now the largest cell phone provider in the US. Once the ink dries on their T-Mobile takeover, AT&T will have over 135 million wireless customers.
Is this a good or bad thing for consumers?
AT&T claims that their acquisition of T-Mobile will improve call reception (especially in rural areas) and help them roll-out their 4G data network across most of the US.
Of course conventional logic suggests that less competition often leads to higher prices and less incentive to innovate.
