Step 1: SEO Business Analysis
Before we can help, we have to understand your business. As part of our initial SEO evaluation, we research keywords for your industry and analyze your website for optimization opportunities. What we usually find is plenty of room for growth.
Step 2: Competitive Landscape
The SEO evaluation also includes a look at your top competitors. The aggressiveness of your search engine marketing campaign will depend on how competitive the desired keywords are (search volume) and how much SEO work your competitors have done, if any.
Step 3: Select Keywords
We don’t like to marry the success of your campaign to the performance of a small group of keywords. Search engine marketing is all about increasing traffic and generating leads. Individual keyword rankings are mostly trivial. However, the SEO development process itself does focus on a select group of keywords (between 15-200), and choosing the right group of keywords requires research from us and collaboration/approval from you.
Step 4: Site Architecture
Now for the technical stuff. We scrub and update the code of your site with SEO-friendly meta tags, page titles, image alt tags, descriptions, and other on-page code optimizations. We check the speed of your site (this matters to search engines and users). We make sure your site is W3C compliant and free of extraneous HTML code (this matters to search engines). Depending on the size of your website (# of pages), these updates will be deployed in batches over the course of your campaign.
Step 5: Content Development
Now more than ever the success of your SEO campaign hinges on new and diverse content. This includes updating your website content (homepage and subpages) and authoring new text for press releases and article websites. All content should be consistent with your SEO development to maximize effectiveness.
Step 6. Link Building
Quality link building is still the backbone of an effective SEO campaign. The key word is quality. A quality backlink is one that adds value to your site by demonstrating to search engines that other sites view you as an authority on a particular subject. A quality backlink is one that’s anchor-tagged with an SEO keyword from a site with a pagerank comparable or higher than yours. Quality backlink building is an ongoing process that continues for the duration of a search engine marketing campaign.
Step 7. Reporting

Each month our clients get a comprehensive report that tracks keywords rankings, search engine traffic, and breaks down every optimization task performed in the last thirty days. Now we understand if you don’t read every line of the report like a book. That’s okay. For some clients everything they need can be found in the performance summary on the first page. However, for us, showing everything we do has become a most effective system of checks and balances.
