Facebook Ads can link to external URLs (your website or any specific URL), Facebook sponsored story, object, or Google Places page.

How does it work?

Many of the same benefits that apply to Paid Search Advertising on Google or Bing also apply to Social Media Advertising on Facebook. Facebook advertisers have the ability to set a budget, create multiple ads and target customers geographically. However, there is one key difference. Facebook, being a gigantic social network where people are encouraged to share heaps of personal information, has access to unparalleled amounts of personal and demographic data. Google Adwords displays adds for relevant keyword searches, where Facebook displays ads to relevant people.

Which one is better?

It’s not that one platform is necessarily “better” than the other, because they each provide unique advertising opportunities. However, for highly competitive industries (Insurance, Law, Finance, etc.), you can expect a lower Cost-Per-Click from Facebook Ads. This is because Google uses keyword bidding to establish their Click Prices, while Facebook has less extreme ups and downs in CPC because they use demographics to set Click Prices. For most advertisers, a balance of Paid Search Advertising and Social Media Advertising is recommended. Of course, if you are working within a limited budget, our Marketing Consultants can help you decide which platform will give you the best results.

Do I need a Facebook Ad management company?

Just like with Paid Search Advertising, it depends on your goals. Facebook makes it easy enough to create an Ad and start displaying it right away, but getting the most for your Ad dollar requires daily monitoring and management. On a continuous basis, our Facebook Ad managers monitor ad performance and adjust targeting accordingly. Facebook offers comprehensive Ad analytics that not only measure performance but track engagement. Facilitating social engagement is another area where Facebook has a clear advantage over Search Engines. Find out about our Facebook Ad Management packages below.
